Introduction:
I’m In Love With My Ex is written by Deepanwita Chakraborty. It is a story of a boy Aarush and his ex-girlfriend Aisha. The drama picks off when Aarush receives an invitation for the marriage of his friend.
Positives:
The book has a good beginning to the story. The best part of the story was when Aisha stood up for Aarush when their classmates intimidated him. It is refreshing to see that girl stands up for a boy. This is the movement, which kindles love in Aarush. Here the story tries to highlight what goes through the mind younger generation today. It does look like that is an attempt to be romantic from the boy’s point of view; however, the girl is a strong character, which is the best part off of all the characters. Aisha has clarity of what she wants in life and goes about it. Aarush on the other hand is a person, who finds it difficult to make decisions. And at times is stuck with his emotions.
Negatives:
The story fell in the middle part where it could have been more exciting. Overall, the plot is a great attempt by the author but it misses out on the essence of true romance somewhere. Editing vies the book needs some more editing. When considering it was the first attempt by the author. It was a good enough attempt. But it requires some more effort in connecting the sequences and the characters.
Conclusion:
The story could have had more into it, which was again cut short by the author. Maybe if something new could be added and again brought out it may surprise the reader even more with the end it has. This twist gives the book some more points and out of 5 points, it gets a close 3.5 points. If you are a romantic person then you will definitely like to read it once ignoring the few mistakes.
