Twinkle Dreams is a lovely collection of self-written poems by a very young girl Prachi Choudhury at age 12 years only. The book has 50 poems written in English on different topics of life, society, family, and the dreams of a very young girl.

Positives:

The best part of the book is that you can easily connect with the child through the words in the poem. The editor has taken care to keep the voice of the author intact. What will amaze you is that considering the age, the author has a mature outlook towards the various aspects of life. The little author is filled with many dreams while still on the journey to finding the purpose. And that goes with the title of the book. In addition, she is enjoying this dreaming phase through the choices of her poems and words in them. You can clearly see the love between the siblings when she describes her brother in one of the poems.  There is one poem on the perfume of her mother. There she expresses how she adores the perfume her mother wears and how her curiosity took her to the hospital.

Negatives:

The words describing the imagery in the poems could have been a little better and flow a bit smoother. However, considering the age of the author and first try at writing it is a decent effort.

Conclusion:

While reading the book you will find the poems when she dreams of becoming a star or even newspaper. It shows how important the role they play and her observation skills. It is definitely worth reading, as you will find 50 beautiful poems that are written out of love. You can even present it to your children for them to read and you never know it may kindle the fire in them to write and give a path to channelize their creative energy. In a 5 point, marking this book deserves a 4 pointer in the children’s poetry category.
