The Smiley Girl is a story of a little girl Cindy, who has learned the art of being simple and keeps smiling. The authors Ornella Ngabire and Emmanuel Ndayishimiye have tried to spread a positive message through this book among the children to be helpful.
Positives:
Cindy makes a kindness calendar with different objectives for every day of the week. Illustrations are very good and the color usage. It is a good attempt to teach children the right things at an early age. Images and words are connected.
Negatives:
The only negative that can be seen is that the story is very short. And while reading in ebook format the images and written text came on different pages which takes away the charm a bit.
Conclusion:
Authors can go for series of books with the character teaching good deeds to other children as an example. Overall, it is a beautiful book. And children would love to read it. For illustration and theme of the book, it deserves 4.5 points from us out of 5 points. If you have little kids at home this would make a great gift for them.
