A shadow fell upon the earth,
And quieted the busy street,
A tiny foe of unknown birth,
That brought the world to sudden freeze.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The bustling crowds all faded away,
Behind closed doors we stayed inside;
We watched the news from day to day,
With nowhere left to run or hide.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
The air grew still, the skies turned clear,
While fear was lingering in the air;
A masked horizon far and near,
And empty places everywhere.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Yet through the silence came a light,
As brave souls stood upon the line:
The doctors fighting through the night,
To keep hope breathing all the time.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
We learned to speak through screens and glass,
To hold our loved ones in our hearts,
And pray for winter’s storm to pass,
Though kept a distance and apart.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Hands washed clean and distance kept,
We counted days and watched the sun;
While in our solitude we wept,
And waited for the battle won.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
Now healing rises like the dawn,
The dark retreats, the spirits soar;
Though memories remain unbroken,
We stand much stronger than before.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
A global trial, a lesson learned,
That life is fragile, soft, and dear;
To brighter tomorrows, hope returned,
As morning drives away the fear.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
